As a biokineticist we would focus on pre, during and post season training as well as specific testing and exercise prescription to ensure optimal performance and recovery:
Getting into shape and losing weight can be a daunting experience. As a biokineticist we strive to make this as easy and pleasant as possible. Through exercise prescription and nutritional guidance, (we are not dietitians we can only make recommendations towards a healthy lifestyle), we will work towards getting you your dream body. Depending on the person - in these sessions we will engage in various exercise which will target:
Various factors contribute to exercise non-adherence. Fear, finances, boredom, time and dissatisfaction are major contributors and as a biokineticist it is our mission to over-come these. Training with others can reinstate enjoyment, motivation and reduce ones fear of exercising. These plans are often cheaper than private sessions, and you are still able to reap the benefits of supervised exercise.
Special populations that are actively participating in physical activity are more functional and falls less often with the added benefit of improved cognitive abilities. Also included amongst these patients, are pregnant women as they have a risk of developing gestational diabetes as well as adults living with disabilities due to stroke or Cerebral Palsy. These are only a few populations of many that could directly benefit from supervised exercise management of these chronic conditions or possibly prevent a condition from becoming chronic.

The Vitality Fitness Assessment (VFA) consists of two parts – part one measures your cardio-vascular fitness and the second part your strength and flexibility. It has been designed to give you a personalized understanding of your fitness. After your VFA your biokineticist will show you what you need to focus on in order to get fitter and stronger. This should assist in preventing injuries and ill health. You can earn 2500 Vitality points and up to an additional 5000 Vitality points depending on your fitness level.
